All moms just want to be appreciated. If it takes a stupid Hallmark holiday like Mother’s Day or Valentine’s Day for the family to show mom they care, then I’m all for it! But frugal moms don’t want you to waste your money on a lame mug or stinky bath bombs. Get her something that she will REALLY love and can maybe even use. Here is a list of 10 cool gifts for mom you probably never thought of. Hell, some are even free!
All moms want to be appreciated. So before you waste your money on a stupid mug, here's 10 cool gifts for mom you never even thought of. Some are even free! Share on X1. Personalized Sound Wave Art
Moms love creating memories. So how cool is this thing!
You record a message or a song and they create a soundwave print it up in this acrylic glass block.
Then with a smartphone, you can scan the code and hear it whenever you want.
They even have a little vase on the side for you to put a little flower.
I think that it would be especially awesome to record your little one’s voice and then mom can listen to it over the years with fond memories of the children after they’ve grown.
It’s super sentimental and a keeper for sure. I’m not crying. YOU’RE CRYING!
You can find it for around $53 on Amazon here: Personalized Sound Wave Art
2. What I Love About Mom Book
No, it’s not a boring poetry book about how moms are the most amazing creatures on earth (even though it’s true).
This gift requires you to actually fill in the blanks with your own thoughtful words.
And look, I know you don’t like to write. But what makes this gift special is that you actually made an effort – which she will really appreciate.
Plus they already did most of the hard work, you just have to fill in the blanks.
It’s like Mad Libs, but since it’s for mom – you may want to use nice words like love and hugs instead of boobs and poop.
Unless she actually likes that kind of stuff (like me).
You can get this book for around $10 here: What I Love About Mom Book
3. Jewelry Box Cabinet
If mom already has a ton of jewelry, she will appreciate this cool cabinet to keep it in.
It does double duty as not only a jewelry organizer, but also as a full-length mirror!
You can mount it on a wall or over a door. Plus there’s lots of room for makeup and skin care products so she can get that stuff off her counter.
Beautiful and practical!
Although now you might need to get her more jewelry to put in it…
You can see my video review of this product here:
This Jewelry Box Cabinet is large and in charge and sells for around $125 on Amazon.
4. Hand/Foot Plaster Casting Kit
Preserve time with this Plaster Casting Kit.
This is a great gift for mom’s birthday, anniversary, or mother’s day.
You can make a little statue of the whole family holding hands, baby’s feet, or even your hoo-hah.
Actually, no. Don’t do that. I mean, you could…but don’t.
But basically, if it fits in the bucket, you can cast it.
This plaster casting kit from Luna Bean sells for around $35
5. Splurge on a Roomba
I don’t know any mom who wouldn’t love their own maid.
So if you don’t already have hired help, you should seriously consider getting this for me mom.
The Roomba cleans carpet and hard floors while you just sit and do nothing. You can even control it with your phone or Alexa (which she’ll probably love too).
It even gets that crap along the baseboards and cleans under furniture. I really want one, dammit!
They are a little pricey at around $270, but if you consider how it will save money in the long run, it will pay for itself in a few uses!
You can find the Roomba here.
6. Treat Her to a Relaxing Spa Day
I know this is so cliche, but what woman doesn’t want to be pampered for once in her life.
Whether it’s a massage, manicure/pedicure, or a facial, she will feel like a princess for a day.
And you know what? She deserves it!
You can even get some great deals if you use a Groupon.
Plus even get some money back when you combine Groupon with Ebates. She’ll never know!
All you need to do is sign up for Ebates and download the app. Then go to Groupon and the Ebates window will pop up and ask if you want cash back.
Just hit activate and ya’ done, son!
And if she’s frugal like me, then you can feel free to brag about how much money you saved.
Because saving money is sexy!
7. Clean the House
And keep it clean all day.
That means don’t put dirty dishes in the clean sink and put your crap away after you use it.
No empty soda cans or potato chip bags lying around.
At the very least, do the gross stuff like the toilet and clean up the sink that’s covered in your face pubes. Or the hard stuff like the floors, windows, and baseboards.
While you’re at it, make the kids help too! They won’t die if they can’t play their video game for an hour or two.
Even if you can’t do everything, we want to see you made an effort. Notice a trend?
If you really want to keep her happy, you’ll keep it up the rest of the year too.
And you know what else? It’s free!
Although, it’s times like these that a Roomba would really come in handy…
8. Go Fix Some Shit
Finish that home improvement project you’ve been working on that you’ve been meaning to finish for the past 2 years.
Or take care of something that she has been asking you a million times to take care of. I’m sure you can think of one or ten things you can cross off that honey-do list.
And if you’re not handy, maybe you can get her car washed and detailed. If you’re short on cash, you can just do it yourself and save some moolah.
9. Make Her Favorite Meal
Who wouldn’t love to be served their favorite meal and waited on by the person they love?
I’m not talking about going to a restaurant or getting take out.
This is all you, baby. And maybe bake a cake or cookies if you’re really feeling ambitious.
And then clean up the kitchen afterward, please. No dirty dishes left in the sink! See #7.
10. Give Her the Whole Day Off
Take the kids to an amusement park or mini-golfing and let mom have the whole house to herself to do whatever she wants.
Whether she wants to binge-watch the latest rom-com or nap all day, she can have the day to herself and not worry about breaking up fights or fixing the kid’s lunch.
And it’s not all bad. You get to enjoy some quality time with your kids and mom gets a chance to recharge.
So as you can see, making mom feel special isn’t all about presents. The most thoughtful and cool gifts for mom just require showing a little effort and appreciation.
And who knows? She might even reward you too! Wink wink
