I Got a Liquid FaceLift – Was it Worth it?

Ugh! Getting old sucks – especially when you are vain like me. Since I have entered my 40s, my face has started sagging, I’m getting wrinkles, and I feel really blah. Cosmetic surgery is expensive and permanent, so I decided to try the next best thing – a Liquid FaceLift!

And if you are thinking about trying a liquid facelift, allow me to share my experience with you to help you decide if these procedures are right for you.

*I am not a medical professional. All procedures in this post were performed by a licensed aesthetician. This is based on my own experience. Proceed at your own risk.

Tired of looking old but not ready to go under the knife? Me too. So I got myself a Liquid Facelift instead. But was it worth it? Maybe this will help you decide. Share on X

Why I Decided to Get a Liquid FaceLift

As we get older, the collagen in our skin begins to break down causing sagging, wrinkles, and folds. And I am reminded of this every time I look in the mirror.

The things I have noticed more and more as I age are:

All the things I want to fix on my face!

  1. Wrinkles on my forehead.
  2. Droopy eyes
  3. Crows feet
  4. Jowls and saggy cheeks (or laugh lines)
  5. Marionette lines (the lines from the outer corners of our lips that head down the chin)

So I wanted to do something about them and did some research about what a liquid facelift entails.

After reading the reviews and seeing a ton of before and afters, when I hit 40, I decided to take the plunge and am so glad I did!

What is a Liquid Face Lift?

According to the Liquid Face Lift Association:

“A Liquid Facelift is a technique for injecting advanced dermal fillers, such as JUVEDERM®, Radiesse® and Restylane® to lift and contour facial features. A non-surgical Liquid Face Lift can be undertaken to accomplish any of the following:

  • Gentle lift of individual (or overall) facial features
  • Reduced wrinkles, creases, line or folds
  • Restoration of natural, curved facial contours
  • A more rested, energetic look
  • A friendlier smile.”

Now they are talking my language! I didn’t want anything drastic. I just wanted to look a little younger and more refreshed.

What Procedures I Had Done

Watch the video!

The place I went to often runs specials. And being the cheapskate that I am, I tend to select whatever special gives me the most bang for my buck.

This time around I got the following procedures which were combined into a package deal for only $800!

  1. Voluma (1 syringe) – to add volume and lift up my sagging cheeks. Voluma lasts about 1-2 years.
  2. Juvederm (1 syringe) – to fill in my nasolabial folds. Juvederm lasts around 9 months to a year.
  3. Botox (20 units) – to lessen the lines in my forehead and crows feet. Botox lasts for 3-4 months.

Check out the before and after photos taken over 4 weeks –

Just before having the liquid facelift done. So droopy!

Immediately after having the procedures done, still at the facility and very swollen.

48 hours later. My cheeks are still pretty sore, but I’m healing.

2 weeks after the liquid facelift. My face is still settling.

4 weeks after the fillers. Everything is where it should be at this point.

After a month, I’m loving these cheekbones!

How Much Does a Liquid Face Lift Cost?

I’m not going to lie. Fillers and Botox can get expensive.

Depending on the service, you can spend anywhere from $7.99 per unit of Botox to upwards of $2000 for a whole face full of fillers.

You can usually find a great deal using Groupon, which is how I found my current place.

If you are not already signed up for Groupon, you need to get in on this free service

And if you use Rakuten with Groupon, you can even get CASH BACK!! It’s a win-win!

6 weeks later and I feel like a million bucks!

*With any type of cosmetic work, you need to make sure to read the reviews on the facility and do your homework on the procedures you are wanting done.

A great site to check out for reviews of Botox, Juvederm, or any cosmetic surgery is Real Self.

There is also this cool site called Brilliant Distinctions Program. It’s basically like a Botox Rewards program. The more work you have done, the more points you earn, which can be used for future services.

With the amount of work I had done, I earned $120 in rewards, which will allow me to get a touch up in about 4 months! Sweet!

I’m not rich or high maintenance by any means. I don’t ever get my nails done and rarely buy things for myself. But once a year I save a portion of my tax refund to give my face a little lift.

It’s my one yearly splurge that makes me feel good!

And you can see that as long as you don’t go crazy and do anything drastic, you can achieve and maintain a natural-looking youthful appearance with the help of a liquid facelift.

I totally think it’s about time we start making this a normalized conversation. I don’t see anything wrong with it either. Everyone has their own “thing” and if it makes you feel like a million bucks DO IT! Btw you look incredible! Thank you for sharing your experience.

I admit that the result is truly amazing and the striking thing is that this treatment can be done alone despite the injections. It’s easy?

This seems like a much better idea than an actual face lift. No cutting is nice. That stuff is forever!

You look amazing! I did this years ago (I opt for Restylane) and I love the result! It last 2-years on me and I love it. I need to get another session when I get back to the Philippines.

I think there is a big difference between the first and the last picture and it’s great that they can do it without surgery 🙂
